Hasselblad camera with 4/3 CMOS sensor
DJI's best professional compact quadcopter has a built-in camera from renowned Swedish camera manufacturer Hasselblad. The Swedish company has specially adapted its L2D-20c camera for the DJI Mavic 3. The device features a professional-grade 4/3 CMOS sensor in an elegant and compact form. Hasselblad's exacting standards apply to both hardware performance and software algorithms. This guarantees image quality at a whole new level.
Unlimited dual camera capability
With Mavic 3 you will have no problem shooting professional-level footage, because when you record video the system uses built-in imaging capabilities to provide the user with incredible high-resolution results. The drone camera is capable of capturing up to a billion colours thanks to its 10-bit D-Log colour profile. You'll get natural gradations of colour, as well as greater capability and flexibility while processing your footage.
Apple ProRes 422 HQ encoding support in Mavic 3 Cine
DJI has released two versions: Mavic 3 and Mavic 3 Cine. The main difference between the two modifications lies in the camera characteristics. While the DJI Mavic 3 Cine supports Apple ProRes 422 HQ and H.264 / H.265 encoding, the DJI Mavic 3 only supports H.264 / H.265 encoding. At the same time, the first model has a data rate of up to 3,772 Mbps. The Mavic 3 Cine's design also includes a built-in 1TB SSD and 10Gbps light cable. This makes professional filming, processing and creating footage much easier.
Outstanding shooting quality and flying pleasure
DJI Mavic 3 offers unparalleled professional photography quality from Sweden's leading imaging brand Hasselblad and great flight fun with a high level of safety due to advanced obstacle detection in all directions. Download updates for Mavic 3, each with updated aerial shooting standards.
Hasselblad L1D-20c Camera
The Hasselblad camera is a guarantee of high image quality and a continuation of the Swedish brand's illustrious tradition. The Hasselblad L1D-20c20 offers 20MP stills, 12.8-stop dynamic range, f/2.8-11 adjustable aperture, 24mm EFR, and VDAF autofocus technology.
CMOS 4/3 sensor
The 4/3 CMOS sensor is oversized and guarantees high resolution shooting from the Mavic 3, wide dynamic range, effective noise reduction in low light conditions. Create aerial masterpieces or get detailed visuals!
12.8-stop dynamic range
Optimal image quality is the key to the performance of the CMOS 4/3 sensor, combined with a dynamic range of 12.8 stops. More detail in both highlights and shadows, allowing you to take your footage to the highest professional level.
Adjustable aperture
An important advantage of the new camera is the ability to adjust the aperture according to your needs in different shooting conditions and for different purposes. Low light conditions are no problem because the f/2.8 aperture provides more light. When there's enough light, simply reduce the shutter speed to create smooth, natural-looking shots.
Wider angle of view
For such a compact drone, the weight of the lens has been made to be less than 13 grams, but the shooting quality remains high, including the 24mm equivalent focal length, autofocus support and a wider field of view of 84°. So more detail can be captured in each shot.
Fast focus with VDAF
The Hasselblad camera installed in the Mavic 3 features Video Assisted Deterrent AF (VDAF) technology. The focus speed is optimised by the distance sensing technology from these sensors.
Outstanding results without presets
Neither before nor now, working with Hasselblad systems requires complex post-processing. This is fully applicable to the Mavic 3. The Hasselblad Natural Color Solution (HNCS) is the result of pixel-level development by Hasselblad sensor specialists. It is an innovative way of operating in a wide range of conditions. It ensures the accurate reproduction of natural colours and tones.
Pixel calibration
Many techniques are used to achieve premium image quality. In particular, the developers added the L2D-20c lens for natural colours from the Mavic 3 camera. So no difference from other Hasselblad cameras in this respect here too. The lens meets the high standards and desires of aerial professionals by calibrating each pixel and using HNCS.
Precise colour reproduction
The Hasselblad's unique image processing system and special algorithms convert the colour data of the sensor into RGB colour during shooting. So you'll always get bright, natural colours in all conditions without any complicated post-processing or presets.
Telescope
At the top of the shooting module is a telephoto camera that offers 28x zoom with Hybrid Zoom. The unique telecamera makes Explore mode the ideal way to scout and plan your shots. When scenes or subjects are far away, use the TV camera to zoom in and save time. You can even use it to record subjects from a distance without disturbing the scene. The camera features a 1/2-inch CMOS sensor and a lens with a 15° angle of view, 162mm EFR, f/4.4 aperture and a focus range of 3m to ∞.
Reconnaissance mode
To connect a second Mavic 3 camera - a camera with a telephoto lens - all you need to do is activate Reconnaissance Mode. This allows you to optimise the shooting process by planning it out. For example, if the subject of interest is too far away, use the telephoto lens to bring the subject visually closer to you. It will also save you time.
Obstacle detection in all directions
Mavic 3 features several important modules for safe flying and collision avoidance. This allows the operator to concentrate more on the shooting process and getting the right data. The drone is equipped with several built-in wide-angle video sensors and a high-performance processor. These help the quadcopter to accurately detect obstacles in all directions as well as construct a collision-free flight plan.
Enhanced flyback function
Your flight missions will always have a happy ending with a safe landing thanks to the enhanced homing function. This mode ensures the Mavic 3 drone automatically determines the best route back to base and executes it quickly. Even if you do not activate the function yourself or lose the signal, the quadcopter can easily return to the pilot with sufficient light.
APAS 5.0
Returning Mavic 3 to base will make flying and controlling the quadcopter even more interesting, as obstacles on the way back will not interrupt the video recording process. All objects around the Mavic 3 will be recognised in all directions and the aircraft will avoid them smoothly and quickly.

An amateur drone prevented a shark attack on holidaymakers.
In Sydney, in the vicinity of Foster Beach, a local resident piloting a drone accidentally spotted a great white shark swimming along the shore, close to people in the water, unsuspecting of the danger. When the man noticed the shark, he immediately alerted the beach-goers. Luckily, no one was injured.
Drones started detecting fires in Sochi.
Five mobile preventive teams have been formed in each district of the city. These teams conduct daily preventive raids in rural communities most prone to natural fires.
A drowning man was rescued by drone in the Black Sea near Anapa.
The drone dropped a life jacket on a man who was losing strength and hovered in the air as a landmark for rescuers. The drowning man was detected by a monitoring system far out to sea near the Central Beach on August 15. The duty officer directed the drone towards him. The man was evacuated by boat and now his life is not in danger.
